Domestic and international refrigerated transport company
History
+ 80 years
José Mazo Ferrer makes his first journeys from Alhama de Almería to Alzira. He purchases an Opel lorry, which he uses to start working in commercial transport. At the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War he has a total of 5 vehicles, which are requisitioned by the State due to the fratricidal conflict. However, he manages to keep two of them for his own use over this period.
He moves to Alzira permanently with his three sons (Antonio, Pepe, and Paco). His fourth son, Bernardo, would be born in Alzira. The Transportes Alzira company is founded a short time later. It has 16 partners and survives for roughly 5 years, after which it closes down.
1950 sees the foundation of Transportes Mazo, which is started by José Mazo and two friends. Antonio, José’s first born, joins the company that same decade. With an increasing workload, his other sons follow in Antonio’s footsteps.
